The proposed project would consist of two developments, the Upper System and the Lower System.
- The Upper System would consist of: (1) a 40-foot-long, 4-foot-wide, 4-foot-tall diversion structure to divert up to 5 cubic feet per second (cfs) from Crooked Creek; (2) a 1,450-foot-long, 1-foot-diameter penstock extending from the diversion structure and the powerhouse; (3) a powerhouse containing a 35-kilowatt (kW) power recovery turbine; (4) a 25-foot-long, 8-foot-wide, 3-foot-deep cobble-lined tailrace discharging flows into Jim’s Lake; (5) an underground 7,300-foot-long, 7.2/12.47-kilovolt (kV) transmission line extending from both powerhouses to Elfin Cove’s existing 7.2/12.47-kV transmission line; and (6) appurtenant facilities.
- The Lower System would consist of: (1) a siphon intake located in Jim’s Lake to divert 7 cfs; (2) a 1,800-foot-long, 1.2-foot-diameter penstock extending from the siphon intake and the powerhouse; (3) a powerhouse containing a 125-kW Pelton or impulse turbine; (4) a 150-foot-long, 8-foot-wide, 3-foot-deep cobble-lined tailrace discharging flows into Port Althorp; and (5) appurtenant facilities.
The estimated annual generation of the project would be 672.7 gigawatt-hours
