Waterway: Koke'e Ditch Irrigation System
License issued: 4/12/2012
This is a conduit hydropower project possessing a hydropower exemption rather than a hydropower license. The exemption has no expiration date.
This project, which received FERC exemption in April 2012, will be located on the Koke’e Ditch Irrigation System (Koke’e Ditch) in Kauai County, Hawaii.
The proposed Puu Lua Hydropower Project would consist of two hydropower developments: the Upper Puu Lua Development (Upper Development) and the Lower Puu Lua Development (Lower Development). The Upper Development would include a proposed powerhouse, containing one generating unit with an installed capacity of 2 MW and appurtenant facilities. The Lower Development would include a proposed powerhouse, containing one generating unit with an installed capacity of 3.3 MW and appurtenant facilities. Konohiki Hydro estimates the project would have an average annual generation of 32.49 gigawatt-hours. (Source: FERC)
