Supreme Court rejects 2 Clean Water Act cases

The Supreme Court has refused to review disputes over the deadline for states to greenlight federally approved water projects and requirements for private citizens to launch legal challenges under the Clean Water Act. The justices’ short, unexplained orders in two cases Monday preserve lower court rulings that allowed California to take more than a year to review a relicensing plan for a hydroelectric dam system and cleared the way for a lawsuit against South Carolina farmers.
