The Lake Chelan Hydroelectric Project is located on the Chelan River, near the City of Chelan, in Chelan County, Washington. The project occupies 465.5 acres of federal lands administered by the U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service.
On October 8, 2003, a settlement agreement was reached between the licensee (Chelan PUD), Forest Service, Park Service, NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Washington Department of Ecology, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, American Whitewater, and the City of Chelan. This Settlement Agreement forms the basis for license issued in 2006.
