The project is located on the Saranac River in Clinton County, New York. The Saranac River Project includes four developments located between RM 25 and 12.5 above Lake Champlain. The developments are listed below, beginning with the most upstream development:
The High Falls Development consists of a 63-foot-high, 274-foot-long concrete
gravity dam, a 46-acre reservoir, a powerhouse (three generating units with a total installed capacity of 15 MW), and appurtenant facilities. The development bypasses a 6,600-foot-long reach of the Saranac River.
The Cadyville Development consists of a 50-foot-high, 237-foot-long concrete gravity dam, a 200-acre reservoir, a powerhouse (three generating units with a total installed capacity of 5,525 kW) and appurtenant facilities. The development bypasses a 1,700-foot-long reach of the Saranac River.
The Mill C Development consists of a 43-foot-high, 202-foot-long stone masonry dam, a 7.9-acre reservoir, a powerhouse (two generating units with a total installed capacity of 2,250 kW), an adjacent powerhouse (containing a single generating unit with an installed capacity of 3,800 kW), and and appurtenant facilities. The developmentbypasses a 500-foot-long reach of the Saranac River.
The Kents Falls Development consists of a 59-foot-high, 172-foot-long concrete gravity dam, a 34-acre reservoir, a powerhouse (three generating units with a total installed capacity of 13,680 kW), and appurtenant facilities. The development bypasses a 4,400-foot-long reach of theSaranac River.
