Wanapum Dam

The project is located on the mid-Columbia River, in portions of Grant, Yakima, Kittitas, Douglas, Benton, and Chelan Counties, Washington, and occupies about 3,052 acres of federal land.

In the project area, there are more than 40 species of fish, including both anadromous and resident fish. There are six anadromous species, including Chinook salmon; sockeye salmon; steelhead; coho salmon; Pacific lamprey; and American Shad. There are 38 resident species, including bull trout, white sturgeon, rainbow trout, walleye, smallmouth bass, and northern pikeminnow.
