Wilkesboro Hydroelectric Company, LLC proposes to construct, operate, and maintain a new 4-megawatt (MW) facility using the existing W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir, which are owned and operated by the Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). The W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir were constructed by the Corps and became operational in 1963 to provide flood control, water supply, recreation, and low flow releases.

The London-Marmet Hydroelectric project is owned by the Appalachian Power Company and consists of two developments on London and Marmet dams, both of which are owned by the US Army Corps of Engineers.

This project is located on the New River in Pulaski County in Virginia. The stretch of river from Claytor Dam to Eggleston offers recreationists ample opportunities to fish and float the wide and relatively slow flow with beautiful scenery of high cliffs. Downstream of the Peppers Ferry Bridge is a series of Class I-II ledges for whitewater paddling.
