The Muddy Run Project is located 22 miles upstream of the Chesapeake Bay on the eastern side of the Susquehanna River, within Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Muddy Run is one of five projects located on the Lower Susquehanna River. The three projects upstream from the Muddy Run are: York Haven Project (P-1888), and Safe Harbor Project (P-1025), Holtwood (P-1881). The Conowinigo Conowingo Hydroelectric Project (P-405), downstream of the Muddy Run project, is currently seeking a new license.
